Hans Helicopters Ltd. (PHL) was incorporated as a Company
on
15th Oct 1985. The primary objectives were to provide helicopter
services to the petroleum sector, linking inaccessible areas
of the country and operating tourist charters.

Hans. one of Asia's largest helicopters Company operates and
maintains. 34 state-of-the-art helicopters. The company has
a mix fleet of helicopters of varios sizes and types catering
to different customers requirements. These includes the 3 seater
R-44, 5-6 seater Bell206 L4 & Bell407, 11 seater Dauphin
and 26 seater Mi-172 helicopters. It operates its helicopters
over the sea, in the islands of Lakshwadeep, the mainland of
India and mountanious terrain of the north east. Its range of
customers include the ONGC, Oil India, Indian Oil, Hardy Exploration,
Govt. of Punjab, Lakshwadeep Administration, Govt. of Arunachal
Pradesh, Govt. of Sikkim, Govt. of Karnataka, Deptt. of Revenue,
Ministry of Home Affairs, GAIL & Private Corporate Houses.
Based on its competitive cost & operating capability PHL
has been awraded the contract for XVII & XVX Antartica Expedition.
The company achieved a total revenue flying task of 19,500 hours
in the year 1998-99.Till date PHL has fliowen over 2,40,000
hours.
The
Company has made relentless efforts towards achieving self-sufficiency
in maintenance of its helicopters fleet it has established DGCA
approved maintenance facilities and workshops covering almost
the entire gamut of helicopter servicing including major overhaul
of helicopters.
The
Company employs 762 personnel which include highly expeienced
and trained pilots. engineering personnel and support staff.
For continous development and skill upgradation of its employees,
the company is running a DGCA approved Training School for its
technical personnel and has also installed simulators at Delhi
and Mumbai to provide periodic instrument training to the Pilots.
For
over a decade, Pawan Hans has quietly but steadily enacted its
role of being the "Nations propellers of progress"
and now Pawan Hans is fully geared to fly out to the new millenium
offering unmatched services.
